ShellEd is a superb shell script editor for Eclipse. The great benefit of this plugin is the integration of man page information for content assist and text hover. Check it out!
Grate for me (I'm a system administrator).
Nice & usefull
Easily installed on Galileo. Pretty nice basic editor for shells. I'm enjoying it so far. Just cleans everything up nicely.
I installed it on Galileo. Great tool. Is it possible to adjust the tab size?
This project does not install on Galileo. The author has not posted a workaround.
This works great. Love the built-in man page information. Thanks guys!
No instruction of install. Tried many hours, drop to plug-in, restart,... nothing happens. Someone help please. Put a readme.txt there at least.
Using Eclipse 3.5.1 / Kubuntu 9.04. Installation of shelled is little tricky, but then: works great. Just missing custumize features: configure highlighting colors using spaces for tabs and auto indent
No way to adjust lame syntax coloring for black background. This standard requirement needs to be met before publishing eclipse components.
this is a good and simple shell editor for eclipse
I'm trying to get this to work on OS X with Eclipse 3.5.1. I unzip from my main Eclipse install directory, so the contents go into features/ and install/, but after restarting Eclipse I don't see ShellEd in the Features or Plugins list, and opening a .sh file doesn't do anything special. I also tried putting the features/ and plugins/ contents in the dropins/ folder, but no luck. Any ideas? UPDATE: Thanks, Christoper- I tried 1.0.4 and it shows up as expected. General question- I don't see a specific list of what the plug-in offers. Are there features besides the syntax highlighting and man page popups that I don't see? Thanks.
No option to change syntax highlight? Not useful then.
1.0.4 works on Galileo (Version: 3.5.0 Build id: I20090611-1540). You may have to restart Eclipse with the "-clean" flag. 2.0.0_M0 doesn't work for me.
Eclipse 3.5 on OS X with 2.0.0 M2 (12/9/2009) didn't work for me, but 1.0.4 is good.
Thank your for this nice plugin. I've used it for years now. 2.0 works great in Galileo (actually never used the man feature, so I don't miss it).
