TextureBrush look cool for filling polygons.
Or fill with a 'hatch' like in AutoCad. The polygon is filled
with a pattern like crosslines / crosses etc....

me nagging again :o)
Are you planning / working on importing other gis-
formats besides shapefile?
XML looks interesting,... also plain old DXF could be an
option to import for just viewing.
Requests and Bugs could be interesting to put on you
homepage,.... SourceFourge request i tend to not really
look at, but that could just be me,... :o)

When you resize the window in the example UI the map
can lose it's aspect ratio if you do not resize properly
both with and height at the same ratio. Causes the map
to look squished or stretched.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Start the app
2) load a map
3) drap the window border horizontally or vertically only
and the map will lose it's aspect ratio.
Expected: The map would keep its...
