New language files are smaller. And 7-Zip now faster detects default language after first installation.

To what format do you compress?
Note that probably you have archive, and you try to update it.
Can you open that archive with 7-Zip?
Also try to create new archive with 7-Zip.

bug on versions above 9.20
i open a file from the file manager
now it is opened in notepad
i change its name in the archive
so now i have a file in the archive name - a
and in notepad name b
i save the file in notepad
the file add correctly to the archive
and now in the archive i have 2 files - a, b
this works ok only in 9.20
not above

There was some bug in 32-bit version with language detection.

Can not compress anyword1.anyword2.iso and some other extensions (rar doc arj cab etc.) using: Add to archive…

(i have unchecked option: hide extensions of know file types - in folder options)
create any file and name it for example test1.test2.doc and try to select from shell menu Add to archive…
and then this error message appears: Update operations are not supported for this archive.
in older versions is ok
9.23 alpha has a bug in the test code when ran from the Windows explorer in Windows XP:
* Right click on a file supported by 7-Zip
* Select Test archive
* Labels will be missing from the results window
