Sequoia will no longer have continued development as an email client written in PHP. SquirrelMail is a web-based email client written in PHP that is being much more actively developed and can be found on sourceforge also. This project will be undergoing evaluation to determine if development efforts should be combined with existing clients. This project will probably move more towards a Java backend.
The package may not be packaged very well, but here it is. Any help needed, email sequoia@apu.edu or use the lists here on sourceforge for this project. Still much work to be done on this project, but it is definitely functional.
Other tasks have pulled my attention away from this project, but I am back. I am adding some timing functionality for debugging the classes, and fixing some of the problems we have encountered using the alpha version. Very close to having things wrapped up, so I can package and release here on sourceforge. Again, email sequoia@apu.edu if you are a brave sould that wants to look at the code and stuff before release.
Sequoia should have people hacking away at it, trying to break it within the week. The mime library is being looked at to be reworked slightly. As of yet it has not undergone the mime torture test, but will shortly. I am hoping to be at a point next week where I can freeze the current state and move Sequoia to sourceforge. I will be extracting it from the UDEUPA project, testing it a bit, then releasing the files. Sorry for the delay. Once this step is done, future releases and fixes will be available using sourceforge CVS. This is a step that had to be done, because it was an integrated part of a larger project initially.
A release version of Sequoia is currently not available due to the fact that it is a single module that is part of a large intranet system being developed for Azusa Pacific University (http://www.apu.edu/) in Azusa, CA. This larger project is called UDEUPA and more information on this project can be found at http://udeupa.apu.edu/about/ . There will be a short wait while we get the current state of Sequoia to release quality, freeze it, then work on packaging it for release on sourceforge. The reason for this being that we need to ensure that the module can operate independent of the system as a whole. If there are any developers that would like to get the files that are currently under heavy development before there is a release, email sequoia@apu.edu and we will try to either email the files, or just post a tar of the tree here on sourceforge. We expect an independently operating version to be released withing the next month, so we encourage you to wait for that to be available.
