The Semi-Automatic OS is a lightweight OS designed for the land cover classification of remote sensing images.
It includes the Semi-Automatic Classification Plugin for QGIS 2.2, already configured along with all the required dependencies (SAGA GIS, GDAL, Numpy, SciPy and Matplotlib).
The Semi-Automatic Classification Plugin is a free plugin that allows for the semi-automatic supervised classification of remote sensing images, providing tools to expedite the creation of ROIs and the classification process.
The Semi-Automatic OS is based on Ubuntu 13.10 32-bit, and it is designed to require very little hardware resources. It uses LXDE and Openbox as main desktop environment.
At the moment, the Semi-Automatic OS is available as a virtual machine. It includes a sample Landsat 8 dataset available from the U.S. Geological Survey.
