Schmoo delivers a full integration platform for mobile content service providers and service resellers. It can connect to SMSC and MMSC systems using various protocols (SMPP, CIMD2, EMI/UCP, MM7, etc...) as well as enable bulk SMS/MMS access reselling.

Schmoo is a continuation of a very old project. In 2001 I was working for a company doing various development related to mobile communications. Specifically, I developed protocol stacks for several well known mobile messaging protocols: SMPP, EMI/UCP, LAPI, Parlay X, CIMD2, MM7 and others. This system was integrated towards the back end platform: a rudimentary implementation of something that would today be a BPEL engine driving the business logic for mobile services. Combined, these two components represented a system which allowed us to develop, test and deploy mobile services (quizzes, chat services, dating games, etc) in many countries worldwide. After leaving the company, I have always wanted to create an open source version of the stuff I developed there as well as to update the project to the current standards of technology. I will be releasing the source code in packages as I perform basic housekeeping on it, but I expect the whole system to be up and available in no more than three weeks.
