Scan Tailor is an interactive post-processing tool for scanned pages. It performs operations such as page splitting, deskewing, and removing garbage. All operations can be done automatically, however it's still possible to manually correct their results
Great program. Addresses every major area of scan touchup.
automatic tasks works very well
It's very impressive with nice ease of use. I get very good results with the automatic batch processing and rarely need to do any manual adjustment, but that's nice to have now that it has been added. I find the success rate of OCR after running scantailor is higher as well. There are more features it could use of course, but since it is under active development, I'm sure it will get there.
please manual option for mix mod: manual select area color area gra area BW automatic mod is sometime missing
After trying Snapter with mixed results I thought I'd try Scan Tailor on some book page photo's I'd taken. I was impressed with what it did although for some reason I needed to do each page manually and it wasn't obvious why. Given I just downloaded it & started using it straight away without reading any instructions I'd say that was more my problem! V0.96 worked fine on my Win2k machine despite suggestions it would crash. On the whole a definate thumbs up from me, will be awesome in time when some other features are implemented - wish I was a programmer & able to help!
Excellent program!
Very high success rate on automatic scan. For me much better and easier than scankromsator. removes gray scanning artifact in the middle of the book. Only missing the dewarp function. Great work anyway! Thumbs up.
Fantastic, I tested it with some really poor quality photos I took of a book and it worked fantastic. These photos were really bad (poorly lit, little contrast between the white page and black text) yet it worked well. Thanks
good
