Ladies and Gents, we are ready to Rock and Roll with Savant2Peer, the Savant Webserver to Peer to Peer Filesharing system conversion. We want you onboard. Here's the concept: FastTrack, the core of Morpheus/Kazaa/Grokster is just a dollied up webserver with an integrated windows media player. All that the existing GPL'd Savant Web Server requires to be converted to a peer to peer filesharing utility is a client model and some minor updates and modifications to the server core. "Supernode" type action can be accomplished by writing a utility that stores a dynamically updated html page of shared files in Savant's root directory. Logon will be handled algorithmically, with users getting tickets when they sign up for the service. Sign up for the service will be based on a yet-to-be-written Java applet that performs a port scan for Savant2Peer Supernodes on an unlikely port. Once a port is found, the java applet will download the Savant2Peer app off of the Supernode. This completely eliminates the need for a centralized "hosting" point for the Peer2Peer Client/Server Software, and makes it impervious to litigious action on the part of record/music/movie companies. Savant2Peer will feature medium strength encryption to ensure user anonymity. Want to suggest other features? Now's the time! Join US!
