RapidDisk (or rxdsk) is a Linux kernel module to dynamically create, remove, and manage RAM disk volumes. Ramdisks are a method by you which can allocate parts of your RAM for high performing file data storage.
- Dynamically create, resize, and remove RAM drives
- Cache data and accelerate read performance of slower disk
Such a needed project. I was surprised how bad ramdisk creation and management was with the Linux kernel until I saw this project many years ago and my eyes were opened to how good other other operating system's ramdisk management was.
