Several available software applications may need to be started as a Windows service, but are not designed to do so.Therefore a Windows Service will be created that can start and stop these applications, as if they were a Windows Service theirselves.

Thanks to gtamir's excellent article (http://www.codeproject.com/dotnet/ScriptedServiceInstall.asp) about xcopy deployment, I was able to remove the MSI installer from the package and supply a real xcopy deployment procedure, thus making the installation much more controlled. You can download the latest version here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=106617 In the near future I will create some sample applications in java and .Net that demonstrate how RunAsService can be used and configured. When that has finished, I'll create the final 1.0 release.
