Feeds option bug in 2.1.2

Sorry to start a new thread but all a "+update +start-up" search could find was [i]How exactly does the update feed option work?[/i] which (A) fails to mention my problem and (B) predates 2.1.2 by a couple of weeks. I'd been happily running RSS Owl through several versions with both auto-update options ticked for start-up and every 30m thereafter (just a global setting with no attempt to differentiate folders) but recently got fed up with alert interruptions and so unticked the periodic option - the gotcha being that the start-up option doesn't actually seem to work (on its own at least) as I now have to manually trigger a global update every time I fire up 2.1.2. FTR:[ul]
    • I did try compromising by reticking the periodic option and changing 'minutes' to 'days' (hence 30 days) but all to no avail :/
    • Like douno (who started the abovementioned thread) I shut my PC down every night - versus your hibernation assumption, my pragmatic reason for doing so is WinXP's internet infrastructure habitually crashing at least every 24-36 hours and my preferring to reboot on a routine daily basis rather than interrupt my work to do so at monotously-frequent random intervals.[/ul] PS (big hint): Trust I've got the BBCode right since there's no preview pane to validate it !!!

    • It does not matter if you hibernate or shut down. • RSSOwl should always update feed on startup if you checked "Edit ⇒ Preferences ⇒ Feeds ⇒ General ⇒ Update Feeds on startup" and "[Feeds View] right-click on Feed or Folder ⇒ Properties ⇒ Auto-update on start". Make sure those are checked. If this does not fix your problem, RSSOwl seems to have problems reading/writing configuration files. Please do the following: 1. Start RSSOwl with the -clean argument (e.g. "rssowl.exe -clean" from the command line) 2. Run Clean Up Wizard 3. Restart RSSOwl. If this did not fix the problem, append your log file here, see http://www.rssowl.org/help#item_5
