I am trying to understand the Clean Up tab.

1.) If I leave Max number of news and Max age to keep unchecked, does that mean that no auto clena up will take place? 2.) It has an option to "Never delete unread news". If I check that, does that override the Max number of days setting? 3.) It says that New news will never be deleted. What is the difference between New news and Unread news?

1.) Yes

2.) Yes, this overrides any clean up option

3.) New news are news that have been downloaded and never shown to you, while unread news have been seen once (not necessarely with the full content but as part of a feed). Please click F1 for further help.

Also, you can explicitly mark a news as unread again, but never "new". New is really for new news of a feed.
