Can you send me the error log? Export it from the Help menu. You can also open a bug report and atach it there at dev.rssowl.org.

hey guys..
started rssowl via terminal...no errors reported however..neither of the tips give in the former reply helped at all....all of the recommended feeds simply dont show up even after going to File /Import and press import for the recommended feeds...nothing happens...it stays on the import dialog...and wont close until I hit "quit"
Again...this is ubuntu 9.10 gnome 2.28.1

I did something else:
I moved the file rssowl.db to a diverend map and then i change the name of the backup file .onlinebak in .db and started RSSowl with the original shortcut.
RSSOwl started up with the old backup feeds.
Not quit the procedure that you described but it works.
I did after that the proceeder that you described but I got the message: The name "C: \ Program Files \...
