The RSEV Project is looking for computer programmers to develop a new operating system to become the standard for spacecraft compute operations. Programmers should have a strong knowledge of Apple computer hardware and architecture and be familiar with Unix coding. Contact the company president or see the company website (software.rsevproject.com) or the sourceforge.net site (sourceforge.net/projects/rsev-swdev) for more information. This project is being developed as Open Source under the Apple Public Source License. Benjamin P. Swem Board of Directors RSEV Corporation
Software development on the operating system and operating software that will be used to run the RSEV Projects spaceships has now begun when the company opened up the project to all programmers in the open source community. This software, once completed, could also be used in general aviation aircraft with FAA certified Apple Computer systems installed. Until development of basic software subroutines is completed, standard Apple computers will be used for software testing. Specific hardware setups will be determined at a later date. This project is just getting started and is need of programmers familiar with Apple Computer hardware and would like to try their hand at something different. Programmers are needed to write the initial base operating system. __________________________________________________ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE __________________________________________________ Commemoration Plaque http://forum.rsevproject.com/viewtopic.php?t=2 A plaque to acknowledge everyone who helps make our dream possible. August 08, 2006 To commemorate and acknowledge every one who will help make the development of the Blackbird Class Science Ship, including its operating software, and future vessels a possibility the Reusable Space Exploration Vehicle Corporation will place a special plaque on the bridge of the first development spacecraft. This plaque will contain the names of ever person who donated over 1 dollar to the company. Additionally the name of ever person who donated over 50 dollars will go into a drawing in which we will pick out ten people who will get a free ride into space on the first development spacecraft once certifications are complete. A separate plaque will feature the names of all the people who actively participated in the company as Volunteers and helped to develop and build the spacecraft. Ten Volunteers will be selected to receive a free ride on the spacecraft along with the 10 people chosen from donators. At this time we are estimating that we may have the first development spacecraft built by the end of 2016.
