Hi,
I'm the lead developer for Puppy Linux. The latest official release uses GTK 2.14.7. I compiled GTK 2.18.3, but now Rox-Filer misbehaves.
I have tested Rox 2.6.1, 2.9.0 and 2.10.0, all have the same problem.
There is just one problem. A file becomes shaded when it is dragged or a mouse-button right-click, but the shading is remaining after the operation is completed.

ROX-Filer is very slow when displaying the contents of large directories (for example, with over 1000 files and/or subdirectories).
I suspect that ROX-Filer is slow because it is sorting the files, so I suggest that ROX-Filer implement a new sorting option that sorts files faster. Perhaps ROX-Filer could sort files in the same order as ls, which is fast. (Incidentally, this would be welcome...
