Overview: ========= Ramdisk Rescue allows Linux to be installed to a flash card (SD, MMC or CF) using a handheld, without requiring a separate computer to format the card. In other words, Ramdisk Rescue is an automated installer for Familiar Linux, which works just like the installer for your desktop distribution. Maintenance and kernel testing are also possible, including the ability to diagnose and filesystem problems, check board/device versions and test audio+LED support. Device Support: =============== Ramdisk Rescue currently supports h2200, h4000 and hx4700 handheld devices, but aims to support any handheld supported by Familiar (or is under development), and is written with device independence in mind. News: ===== As with the previous release, a vast number of changes have been made (over 450 commits made to the SVN repository). Ramdisk Rescue is now hosted at SourceForge utilising both SVN services and file release hosting. http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/ramdisk-rescue/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/ramdisk-rescue/ The latest development revision is automatically generated each day at 3AM AEDT (GMT+10/11) if there are any changes made to the SVN repository (update system in beta). Please see the wiki for the latest version and information: http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/RamdiskRescue New Features: ============= - more options available in custom.txt (info included). - more options in startup.txt (info included). - more reliable card detection and resizing. - better h4000 and hx4700 support. - and much, much more! Thanks: ======= Many thanks to testers and contributors so far. Also a special screenshot for those credited with support: http://sourceforge.net/project/screenshots.php?group_id=175370 Have fun with RR :) Contributions and comments are welcome.
