QuteCom (previously called OpenWengo) is a SIP-compliant voice-over-IP client that allows you to speak to other users of SIP-compliant softphones at no cost. It also allows users to call landlines and cell phones, send SMS text, and make video calls, and is compatible with any SIP provider.
- Full SIP compliance.
- Provider-agnostic. It doesn't matter who provides the phone service to the call recipient.
- Allows users to send SMS messages.
- NAT transversal.
- Cross-platform support.
- QT-based GUI.
- Chatting with MSN, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, and XMPP users.
Qutecom does not work well with audio, if you have many sources of audio. Web page does not exist.
I have been looking for a SIP client that worked like this. Ease of use: Add account, make/receive calls. That simple. Multi-account use is a bit more complicated, but it works. Features: Receives calls better than other clients I have tried. You can manage your account profile right through the options. You have a contacts list and call history. But my favorite thing that's not in the other clients is IT HAS AN IN-CALL DIAL PAD!!! Design: It's... odd. Don't get me wrong, it's nice. I just find it... Outside-of-the-box. Like the Dyson inventors. So it's sort-of a complement.
I like it!
