It would be awesome to have support for Dual-Mode touchpads:
http://www.synaptics.com/products/dualmode.cfm
Having the shortcuts literally at your fingertips is really handy.

syndock is listed in my top-3 applications for current consumption in powertop. It causes 45 cpu wakeups-from-idle per second.
It's probably because it's polling something (a file ?) too much.
Can something be done about it ?.

working on opensuse10.2, gnome2.16.1
installed ksynaptics
called
kcmshell ksynaptics
deactivated tapping
but the touchpad still recognises tapping
does it work only in kde?
Is there a version for gnome?
Is there another possibility to forbid tapping and scrolling by touchpad?.

Hi,

I have had the same problem and then I read the doc about the synaptics xorg's driver (/usr/share/doc/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics).
It seems that the information about the "CorePointer" and "AlwaysCore" options is useful to solve the problem. At the contrary, I don't use the information about the kernel module edev nor "syndaemon".
Good luck !
