I added the patch directly. I don't know if you plan to make any new version soon, but you could take a look at it and possible merge it with trunk.

John Dennis posted on Fedora/Redhat bugzilla a patch which adds support of unicode filenames [1]. I think it would be better to do it upstream than apply the patch at RPM level.

Would you review that patch and merge it with a trunk for the next version?

pyxattr is an Python extension module wrapper for libattr. You can use this module to query, list, add and remove extended attributes from files and directories.
Version 0.4.0 has been releases.
Highlight: new API that should be simpler to use and that is somewhat namespace aware.
Also the license has been changed to LGPLv2.1 or later.

Mac OS X Tiger added xattr support, but Apple's libraries don't match what's on Linux. This patch adds Mac support (hopefully without harming the original).
