me too, with M600i. When I turn off handwriting, it works, but I cannot input some sign(e.g. '_', '\').
it seems a problem about appuifw.Text(), here is my text script:
import appuifw
appuifw.app.body = appuifw.Text()
from e32 import Ao_lock()
lock = Ao_lock()
lock.wait()
and the textbox also double-received my input.

you must click the word "extension" upward and select one mode first.

Same thing happens on my Sony Ericcson w950i
If you have any idea why this happens please let me know - i'm of course willing to do some testing if needed ;)

The certificate used to sign the SIS files (in my case the uiq3 self signed has expired in september. install still works of course when changing date, but a newer build would be nice.
