pylibacl is a Python extension module for POSIX ACLs. You can use this module to query, list, add and remove ACLs from files and directories, if your OS supports it.

A new release has been uploaded. The most important changes are more functions supported under Linux and much better support for FreeBSD 7.
This release adds new functionality under Linux, such as creating an ACL from a file permission mode (e.g. 0644) or comparing two ACLs for equality.
