A powerful and intuitive Windows desktop blogging application. Post blog entries to your XML-RPC/Blogger API host, FTP host, or other host. Extensible using .NET assemblies or by using VBScript/JScript scripts. Outlook-style article browsing interface.
cool
PowerBlog is completely dead, it won't run and certainly will not compile on any modern system due to incompatibilities with .NET Framework 2.0 and Internet Explorer 6.0 / 7.0 / 8.0. PB was built on .NET Framework 1.1 and IE 5, and the additions made in .NET Framework 2.0 completely wiped out PB (think "WebBrowser namespace collision"). Much has happened in software space since PB was released. Web 2.0, AJAX, REST, WCF, Atom publishing API, these have all become very prominent. PB isn't just dead in functionality, it became outdated. At the same time, though, we now have things like Windows LiveWriter, which is basically the same thing as PB, but without the Outlook Express style interface and hugely user-configurable interfaces. PB could, and perhaps should, be reconstructed. I'd like to give it another pass. I'm not sure I want to go it alone this time though. Is anyone with me on this? *crickets*
