The latest version of the Ptolemy Compiler is 1.2. Earlier versions of the
compiler are no longer supported and maintained.

- The Ptolemy compiler is an extension of javac, the reference java compiler
- support for translucid contracts, which allows compile-time checking of
control effects of handlers
- better error recovery and reporting
- faster compilation speed
