Project Solo is an intelligent agent that operates other programs by spoofing mouse clicks and reading screenshots. The current focus is for it to be able to play the computer game Diablo by itself, and for it to be able to interact online with humans.

I've made some exciting progress since the initial release last May. I upgraded the project from Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Visual C# Express 2005. I figured out a better way to spoof mouse clicks that will work for sending clicks to any program, not just Diablo. I created a universal data editor that lets me edit any data project Solo uses. And I have generally made everything run a bit faster or more solid than it was before. The expert system design has undergone many evolutions as I try to figure out what will work and what won't, but I think I'm finally onto something and have a way to proceed with it. This January release includes a nonfunctioning stub where the expert system behaviors will go.
1/23/2007 - Improvements to initial release: - Completely revamped how forms are handled; user interface still bad though - Whizbang "universal object editor" lets you edit all Solo data objects from one place - Improved mouse clicker now works directly with OS and mouse stays put when you move it - New text recognition algorithm much faster - Faster algorithms all around - Unified gamedata structure holds all game data so you don't have to load things individually 4/12/2006 - Initial Release: - Trail navigation works - Text recoginition works - Simple shopping algorithm - Character extractor and screenshot viewer work

Well I had a few beers while working on Solo's Expert System last night and I thought, dude, you know what would totally rock? Solo should use "zen logic" where everything can be "true" and "not true" at the same time! That would kick butt.
The initial release of Project Solo is up. The program is capable of navigating in town and "shopping" for specific items at three locations, but it is difficult to explain how to set the program up to do this at this time. It would be a waste of time to try to document how to set it up right now, when the real fix is simply to make the program a bit easier to use in the future!
