A portal project to produce a web based front end to a compute resource, such as a cluster, using PHP, mysql, apache and perl. The intent is to allow non-programmers to use complex programs through an intuitive web interface.

Major internal restructuring including enhanced queue management, ability to format larger input files, and better job reporting. User visible changes mostly on the queue management and job reporting pages. Better administrative support.
A major update with many bug fixes, support for binary input files, and infrastructure changes that will eventually support more complex programs such as phred and phrap.
Due to major API and database changes this release is bumped to 0.10, not 0.9.1. There have been major bug fixes, a complete rework of the group implementation, and there is now a default job access policy interface. Now you can set defaults for which groups have what kind of access to your jobs, so if you want all of your jobs to be readable by your group it is now possible to set that behavior using the Personal Policy link under the Tools menu. In the year since the last release there have been numerous bug fixes, support for binary input files, support for subdirectories in job output, and many small changes to the underlying code in order to support programs like phred and phrap. That work is not yet complete. Expect arbitrary numbers of file inputs and better audit logging in the next release. The release schedule went from about one every 2-3 months to a full year from the last release due to an increase in my workload. I am hopeful that the next release will be no more than 6 months from now. The next release will be 0.11, not 1.0, as I expect the changes necessary to porperly support "difficult" programs like phred and phrap to be intrusive. There are two new attributes to the Parameter type, simpleonly and attachonly. The simpleonly attribute, when set to "1", will make an input only show up in the short form. It will be hidden in the long form. The issimple attribute must also be set to "1" as they chain. The attachonly attribute only applies to InFile and Sequence Parameters. The attachonly attribute forces the input form to be just a file selection input element. The textbox element is hidden. This is useful for binary inputs that cannot be typed into the textbox.
This release of the Compute Portal Project includes a large number of bug fixes, infrastructure additions to facilitate job restart and workflow enactment. The Pise pipes facility has been greatly enhanced including the withpipe tag feature.
Major bug fixes. Job restart. Enhanced Pise pipes including the elusive <withpipe> tag. Major infrastructure enhancement, although not everything has been exposed to the user.
