    >> clicked the System Tray icon to open the UI ... a new tab opens in IE, but IE cannot display the web page at http://localhost:8080/. When I edit the URL to http://127.0.0.1:8080/, the PopFile UI is up and running ...I can live with this if I have to, but it sure would be nice to get it fixed. <<

I was going to try adding an extra entry to the system tray icon menu which would use 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost but when I looked at the code I found that when Naoki re-wrote the system tray icon code he made it _very_ easy to workaround your problem.

All you need to do is access the POPFile UI then go to the ADVANCED page. There is a long column of POPFile parameters on that page. Find the one labelled "bayes_localhostname" and enter 127.0.0.1 into the box (the default setting is an empty box). Click the "Update" button at the bottom of that column to save this change.

Now shutdown POPFile and re-start it - the system tray icon will now use http://127.0.0.1:8080 to access the UI.
