PootyPedia is a tool to track the hardware in use by a software project. Its client software finds the hardware and reports it, while the server software tracks the reports and keeps them organized in a database.

0.04: There is now a GUI version of the reporting program called pooty_gtk.py. It can be called as a standalone program, in which it draws a gtk window and allows the user to indicate which hardware is working and which is dead. It can also be called as a firstboot module, in which case it is good enough to do the same things without popping up its own window. The write_xml module now takes a more consistent set of values. The device_list was a list of lists earlier, and that was giving rise to some confusion. Now it is a list of dictionaries, just like the package_list. This makes the entire program more consistent. Also, the pooty_text.py program has shed its lone magic number (10), and it now looks more consistently at the devices that were in the text file before an XML is made. Checks for existence of /root/install.log or /root/upgrade.log and attaches them in order.
Addition of CGI. Every valid report is now considered unique, and is reported so. Database changed to add an entropy field in report.
Allow inclusion of whole files. Allow epoch and release number for packages DTD is updated and is correct Allow user comments about the machine.
