Description

Polyworld is one of the earliest and most sophisticated artificial worlds developed to study Artificial Life and Artificial Intelligence, using computational genetics, physiology, metabolism, neural networks, learning, vision, and behavior.

Features

  • 7/24/10: Agents can now give and receive energy to/from each other and contacts may be logged to investigate altruism
  • 8/1/10: Agents can now pick up, carry, and drop all other objects (including each other)
  • 12/1/12: Worldfile parameters can now be made dynamic and controlled by population levels, in support of guided evolution.
  • 12/25/13: Polyworld and its build instructions have been updated for compatibility with Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks).
