Boot from hd?

    Filipe,

    Try this in grub.conf: kernel (hd0,0)/boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda1

    Also, make sure you have IDE disk support compiled into the kernel and that you create device nodes for hda, hda1, hda2, and so on.
