    I am running into issues building plplot because some requirements for desired bindings are in non-standard locations on my systems. E.g., python on my systems is python2.4, with relatively limited add on modules, and python2.6 is the less old v2.6 with more modules which I want to have plplot use.     Hello Alan, I'm also a newbie, but I'm not sure if Xwin was successfully installed on your system, are you really sure? I didn't know well how you get it, but when I run a code with PLplot the first plotting option is Xwin. If you're not sure, maybe you have to search a package which contains Xwin.
