• phpCollegeExchange implements housing section

  We are slowly adding the necessary sections to build a full fledged college portal. Many kinks have been straightened out and the the base has been laid for a smooth growth. The community has grown with the code implemented at more than 5 sites. In the future we plan on adding a proffesor evaluation section, integrating forums, and a callender.

  CHANGELOG PHP College Exchange 0.1.5 (12/1/04) ---------------------- SQL database is consistent in "ID" name little changes PHP College Exchange 0.1.5 beta (10/3/04) ---------------------- Tons and Tons of work. Stripped most of the formating and made it CSS controlled. Added the weather and such on the front page. Fixed a few bugs with the database setup. PHP College Exchange 0.1.4e (09/24/04) ---------------------- Most of the graphics and formating have been stripped. Now I am rebuilding the CSS and taking out all of the old ugly lables. It is still ugly but you can play around with it. PHP College Exchange 0.1.4d (08/28/04) ---------------------- 0.1.4c fixed a bug. 0.1.4d Improved the Housing homepage but not much. I don't have much time to work on this now so send me patches and updates if you want to get to 0.1.5 before christmas. First we need to strip the formatting and controll it with just 3 files the header footer and CSS files. The CSS tags must be renamed to something that makes sense. PHP College Exchange 0.1.4b (08/28/04) ---------------------- The housing section is 99% done, look for bugs and send me the patches. I fixed a few bugs in the books section. It is all prettier now. If someone can sit down for a night and finish up the admin section e-mail me. PHP College Exchange 0.1.4 (08/24/04) ---------------------- The housing section is now almost complete. It works (except for the edit item page) and works pretty well. By 0.1.5 it will be complete. PHP College Exchange 0.1.3c (08/22/04) ---------------------- Minor update with the link at the bottom of the page and I took my database password out :) PHP College Exchange 0.1.3b (08/18/04) ---------------------- A few minor fixes: I included the ISBNexample.gif file that has been left out of the past few distributions and I fixed the link of the add listing page in the home section. PHP College Exchange 0.1.3 (08/17/04) ---------------------- I'm up past my bedtime so you better like this. I renamed most of the php files to more logical names. I also fixed a multitude of errors and I tested the whole site so if you run into a bug it is important to fix it and tell me. Next we will work on the themeing to make it easy to make and keep a single theme through all these updates, hopefully all in CSS and the i_head.php and i_foot.php files. PHP College Exchange 0.1.2 (08/15/04) ---------------------- I have renamed the "forsale" database table to a more appropriate "Books". Errors with the location of login.php, the removeuser.php file (nonfunctional if anyone wants to make it work), and help.php file have been fixed thanks to Christian. PHP College Exchange 0.1.1 (08/14/04) --------------------- I made a few improvements to the housing sections search page (still havn't gotten the simple query to work though, if anyone really knows php and could get me past the database query working with all of the variables I would be much abliged). I also made some minor improvements to the housings Add Listing page. Feel free to tinker with it. bugfixes: 1)Login page misdirected link 2)New User page mislinked mysqlinfo.php

• phpCollegeExchange is now Usable

  After stripping off much of the old css and graphics and adding a section for housing phpCollegeExchange is a good start for a college community portal. 0.1.5 beta is out and getting pounded. Many improvements and features are still being added. We can use any php competent college student who is looking for a pet project and wants to be the coolest person on campus. Our next focus will be adding features such as weather and usefull information to the front page. P.S. The first bug of the 0.1.5 beta is a problem signing in in Internet Explorer though Firefox works just fine.
