I am no longer working on PhotoDirectory; I have changed my digital photo workflow, and am now relying on embedded metadata as the primary classification method, with directory structure for easier browsing. See http://image-tagger.sourceforge.net

  • photodirectory 0.7.6 Beta file released: PhotoDirectory-0.7.6b.zip

0.7.6 Beta -Fixed an export bug which prevented multiple photos of the same name to be exported -Implemented user-configurable external apps (for rotate, open in external, etc) 0.7.5 Beta -Added command line options to enable rotation. I did not use Java to do this directly, since when you do that, you lose all metadata associated with the file. However, if you have a command line photo editing program, such as ImageMagick or sips (built in to OS X), you can use that program to rotate your files without losing data. Set the application in the Preferences menu. -Improved About box look -Added command line options for debug and config directory. Use -d to debug, and -p <relative path> to set where the config files and trash goes (this is relative to HOME_DIR system property). Used in the OS X package to set the configuration to ~/Library/Application Support/PhotoDirectory. You can use the string "__" to add a space to the path (if the command line won't do it for you, such as with Jar Builder.) If you are upgrading from an older version of the OS X package, you can copy the files from your old PhotoDirectory config directory to keep your settings. -Created nicer looking icon for the OS X package 0.7 Beta -Improved details performance, by using JAI instead of JLabel Embedded HTML -Added Export -Improved Mac OSX Look and Feel 0.6.5 Beta -Improved background threading, and enabled progress bar -Misc. bug fixes 0.6.1 Beta -Bug fixes from 0.6 (could not create new config file) -Added background threading for loading libraries on startup - substantial speedup 0.6 Beta -Added OS X package, with Macintosh menu support -Added configurable external application -Misc. improvements 0.5 Beta First public release. Includes support for: -Multithreaded IO intensive operations -Functional menus (Import, Move, etc) -Quick Searching for pictures within the library -Viewing details (with zoom) -Editing images in an external application (currently just for OS X - uses /Applications/GraphicConverter, but soon will be a user configurable option)
