* Cleaned up a few bits of code & documentation. * Added sample config file. * This will likely be the last non-GUI release, and the last release for some time, while the GUI is added.
As with many Free Software projects, Photo Importer was written to scratch my itch. My itch was fairly simple: i didn't want to think about which photos i had imported from my cameras and where to. I just wanted them copied onto my hard disk into date-based folders, and i couldn't find any software that did this without requiring manual intervention. What about photo import on Linux itches you? I'd really like to hear about it so that Photo Importer can benefit more people.
2009.01.18 photo-import@libertysys.com.au * Changed default directory to $HOME/.photo-importer. * Added support for configuration file ($HOME/.photo-importer/photo-importer.ini by default). * Added command line (--auto-commit) and config file option (AutoCommit) for controlling database autocommit. * Added support for multiple database dumps. Command line option is --dump-count, config file option is DumpCount. * Switched from Image::EXIF to Image::ExifTool, eliminating a segfault when scanning files with invalid EXIF data. * Eliminated redundant --scan-media option. Media will automatically be scanned when it is inserted (if installed as per the README file), or when specified on the command line. * Eliminated logging to standard error.
Initial release.
