It still would seem that you have some custom stuff installed somewhere which confuses pentagram, causing it to compile wrong data...
Anyway, I made a change in SVN which might help with the last error your reported. Please tell us whether it has any effect.

I don't have 10.6, and won't have it in the foreseeable future, so I can't do any testing on this. I strongly doubt that this is due to a bug in SDL, though. There were people on the SDL -devel list who reported issues like this in dosbox, pentagram, globulation and others. In at least one case (globulation) the issue was a bug in the game. Namely it dealt incorrectly with the alpha channel...

Max, I assigned this bug to you only to get your attention. Since I've used a snapshot of SDL 1.2.14 (provided by MacPorts) this might very well be caused by SDL. Since I've seen your recent comment on the SDL bug tracker "Bug 581 - Quickdraw is a deprecated API" about testing this, I thought you might be interested.
Feel free to unassign yourself again :)
