Peersite is a suite of components (servlets, tag libraries, java classes etc) for creating and managing social market network web-applications: that is, a social network with added market functionality, for example using pseudo-currencies.

First Alpha Release
The project today released the first alpha package of Peersite-basic. Peersite-basic contains the API, base and utils packages, which provide the base resources, plus the Groups, Pay and Mail packages which handle groups and comments, payments between parties and mailshots to users respectively. The next release will be of Peersite-Extras, which contains packages handling more specialist functions, specifically those related to music-making and music-distribution, which are the key focus of http://www.madchefmusic.co.uk/, the web application for which peersite is being developed.
