The Password Auditing Project will be a compilation of other, previously released password auditing programs, in such a fashion as to reap the best benefits of each portion. Pulling innovations from John the Ripper, Lepton, Rainbow Tables, and more.

Welcome to the Password Auditing Project. This project was conceived through the development of a concept solution at my day job. I thought there was a better way to do things, a more efficient way. I drew upon the best of breed programs such as John the Ripper, Lepton Crack, and Rainbow Tables, and pulled their strengths together. Once properly implemented and maintained on a network, the project has show consistent results of fully cracking 90% of LM/NTLM passwords within 3 to 4 days. This project was born with the idea of maturing and growing this solution into a more robust product. Clearly if I encountered this need, others have as well. The goals are: 1. Bring the code all together in either C or C++ 2. Add support for multiple databases (currently ODBC supported) 3. Add support for other hash types 4. Create a friendly, intuitive interface. 5. Translations of the project. The project is looking for assistance from developers, testers, and sponsors. (in that preference) I look forward to working with everyone and providing a usefult tool for the community. -- David
