pack:tag is a JSP-Taglib that minifies, compresses and combines resources (like JavaScript and CSS) and caches them in memory or in a generated file. It works transparent to the user/developer and the compressing-algorithms are pluggable.
Very useful lib if you are writing applications using such javascript monsters as ExtJS etc.
Javascript bundling works wonderfully! CSS bundling works good as long as you don't use url()'s in those files being bundled.
It really helps in fully automating the whole JS/CSS packing functionality which earlier was using some batch files. It also helps developer to quickly switch between the packed and non-packed mode on the fly which is very very useful. Great lib to use on any Java project.
