This is fixed, though there are still issues with the Aspire One's right slot not appearing in lspci and hence the driver not loading.

I'm not sure why, but the Wind Slipstream seems to have quite a few problems with drivers. I'd strongly suggest installing with the method described on the http://mydellmini.com forums. The problem you are experiencing is almost certainly an artifact of the Wind method.
In any event, I haven't been able to reproduce this problem at all.

Unfortunately, this driver was only written to support SD and SDHC cards. Memory stick support is not out of the question, but not something currently on the feature list. Sorry!

The right side reader on my Acer Aspire One supports Memory Sticks. This is pretty much all I use, I don't have many SD cards... so I'm very interested in making that reader work.

I have the Dell Mini 9 and I installed kext for built in SD reader I found that the laptop does not power all the way off after selecting shutdown. It seems that it is about to shut off then a grey screen pops up and it says that the laptop needs to be restarted or reset. I am running Leopard 10.5.6 wind slipstream version 10.5.4 then updated via OS updater.
