I have 4 gigs of RAM and wanted to give opentaps 3 of that so I changed it to "-Xms 1024M -Xmx 2048M -XX=MaxPersSize=1024M"

But you'll need to change them based on your memory size. The first parameter is the minimum memory it will use, the second is the max memory it will use, and the third is the memory it will use for the heap which you are crashing on and that is a completely seperate chunk of memory.
