This benchmark suite is very complete, and btw open source.

anonymous reviewed opensourcemark: Thumbs up

Thumbs up:
I ran this OSMark in my Windows 7 x64 based machine, and it ran very well... Only is needed to run the Benchmark with Administrator rights for everything to run flawlessly. The main advantage is that you don't need to do a painful installation to get the results. Really good stuff.

Van Smith reviewed opensourcemark: Thumbs up

Thumbs up:
Regarding the negative review pertaining to the old "backdoor.dll" file used in an early version of OpenSourceMark, this was explained four years ago.

The file dynamically loads and unloads a device driver so that MSRs can be read and written to. It also allows affinity selection for the TSC for high precision timing.

anonymous reviewed opensourcemark: Thumbs up

Thumbs up:
opensourcemark will not download

BuddhaChu reviewed opensourcemark: Thumbs down

Thumbs down:
Please investigate the latest download from this project. I extracted it and ran a virus scan on it using both ClamWin and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and there were no hits. Having a .dll in the root directory looked a little funky to me so I checked out it's details. That's showed the original filename was BackdoorDll.dll which got my attention (clue #1).

Since the AV scans passed, I ran the batch files in the root directory to launch the program. It didn't erun so great on windows 7 so I killed all the processes (I had to actually use the Task Manager to stop the program - clue #2 ).

After waking up this morning I noticed a 'backdoor.sys' process was running on my system. I killed it then looked in the Services section and there was a service named RAMOP with no description and set to 'manual' and not running. The service's info showed it running from my user account's temp dir (clue #3).

I've never had a benchmark program have to install services on my machine in order for them to test my system. Someone may have injected some malware somewhere in the maintainers' build process.

Due to the evidence presented above and the fact that the project hasn't been updated in 1.5 years, I solicit this project be shut down.

BezantSoft reviewed opensourcemark: Thumbs up

Thumbs up:
Just started working with OpenSourceMark. OK for me on my XP Pro box. Documentation on what is what and why fairly straight forward.
