OpenMex is a tool that can extract media from games archives, based on MultiEx (available on www.xentax.com). Currently, 142 games (and other formats) are supported (though not all tested yet). Check out our second alpha release.

OpenMex is a tool that can extract (and in the future import) files from a large variety of game archives. Release 0.2 Alpha includes support for 142 games, lots of bugfixes, and more GUI features. Once again, XeNTaX baffles friend and foe with the second release of the ever growing OpenMex extractor. Well, not really, but this release is pretty cool anyway. We're still calling this an Alpha release because a very important feature (being able to modify archives) is not supported yet. However, we do support extracting from a couple of new games, including Lock On, Halo (PC demo), and Sacrifice! Like the last one, this release is Windows only (tested on XP). We've been able to dig up some old game archives to include in the unit tests, so right now we've been able to test and debug a wider variety of legacy game archives. * What's new? - Improved support of old formats - Addition of ZIP format - Addition of Halo PC demo .MAP format - Addition of Sacrifice .WAD format - Addition of Lock On .CDDS format - Some bugs fixed (although there's probably still quite a few around) - Improved GUI: List can now be sorted, icons on list (ugly ones, but we're working on that) - OpenMex remembers old 'file open' and 'extract' settings - Improved error handling - Some optimizations
