The OpenMediaLib_01 reference implementation codebase has been released on sourceforge, read the full article for a description of what it does, what it doesnt, and where its going! You can now download and inspect the OpenMediaLib Version 0.1 from sourceforge by heading over to the projects main page at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/openmedialib/ Version 0.1 is dubbed a Reference Implementation since it is based on working code however there is a lot of cleaning up and restructuring that needs to be done before users can adopt and use the OpenMediaLib. Currently you will need Qt to use the OpenMediaLib but that requirement will be removed over time. The first big step for us was really getting the project togeather so we can start building it out independently. You can currently check out the OpenMediaLib at work in the jahshaka project at www.jahshaka.com where its used to abstract the use of different types of media files on a cross platform basis. Currently, it supports AVI and Mpeg on both Windows and Linux and we are working on adding support for more formats. Uncompressed video is also supported in the form of image sequences, and the OpenMediaLib is resolution independent. If you are interested in this project, please register as we will start to plan out the future of the library over the coming months including laying down the infrastructure for a proper API, proper function calls, a plugin api to make it easier to add and support different media formats, etc
