  • vic does not display member names

I have an openmash 5.2 vic binary from vrvs.org and Debian and both display member list only as ip numbers. An older version of vic from vrvs.org does display conference members as names which I find more helpful most of the time. I did not find any documentation of the vic gui. And the gui does not seem to have any control to swithc this.

  • vat dropouts when both sender and receiver are Mac OS X

Submitted by: gorlick@aero.org OS: Mac OS X 10.2.6 Background: Using vat for unidirectional audio in unicast mode When both the sender and the receiver are running Mac OS X 10.2.6 then the audio periodically experiences dropouts and has a warbling quality to it for tens of seconds at a time. Eventually vat recovers and the audio quality is restored but the problem will reoccur...

  • Comment: better Visual C++ handling

makefile.vc and conf/makefile.win files. Since we require VCVARS32.BAT to set up VC++ for command line use, a path shouldn't be necessary. gsm seems to compile just fine without a hardcoded path. If possible, we should eliminate the hardcoded VC++ path. Add a Comment.

  • Vic fails to reassemble JPEG < MTU

The JPEG reassembler will drop well-formed JPEG frames if the entire frame fits within one packet. This can happen in very low bitrate video (for example a fade-out) when the compressed image size is small enough to fit within the MTU size. The slot algorithm essentially assumes that if there's a packet with a marker bit, the previous packet slot must have the same timestamp (in a do...

  • vic freezes/crashes with new IOXperts firewire dcam driver

I've been testing openmash-5.2.1 vic and vat with the VRVS videoconferencing system under Mac OS X. Before starting I had upgraded to the latest IOXperts firewire webcam driver (version 1.0.6). vic always crashed the Apple X11 X-server or froze under OroborOSX (taking lots of cpu cycles) when I tried to transmit video. Backing the driver out to version 1.0.5 fixed both problems. There...
