The Open CD Server project shares CD-ROM's on a heterogenous network. It is a GPL'd viable alternative to current software, thin-server, and CD Jukebox solutions. It is software based, and uses a web interface for easy administration. CDServer-HOWTO v1.40 (tarball or zip of DocBook XML v4.1.2 and html source) has been released. The HOWTO is what the Open CD Server Project is based on. Go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencdserver/ to download. This update adds information for newer 2.4.x Linux kernels, changes the license to GNU Free Documentation License (mainly for Debian purposes - It's always been freely licensed).
