OpenOffice Search is a document indexing and searching utility. It's written in Java, so it's compatible with just about all platforms. You can specify a list of directories that you want to be able to search through and index them whenever you please. Once they've been indexed (or even while they're being processed), you can perform searches and get results almost instantly. This update improves searching of ODT files and adds support for MS Word files. It also provides some new user interface and stability improvements. Many new "behind the scenes" features have also been introduced that will help speed future development. Please download it and give it a try! Check the wiki page, http://oosearch.wiki.sourceforge.net/, for more information.
