I guess it's time to stop watching this project, xu4 was great, the whole series should have modern updates using a cross-platform engine that is light enough to be run even on old machines or handhelds.
XU4, Nuvie (if and when it is ever finished), Exult, Pentagram.
These are the things we need more of.

I personally loved this as a child, and would love to re-play it for the "PC"... although I am currently doing so using an Apple II emulator with the roms... which was the original version I had (Apple)...
But it would be SO much better with fresh graphics, improved music, ambiance, and a little flare with sound and animation and so forth... but no need to change a word of anything...

What is this project anyway? Just recoding it to run in windows? How much different is it from running it in DosBox? Ive been playing it for a while in DosBox without any problems. Just wondering what the differences are.

I have two gimmicky suggestions for nu5:
There should be an option to display runes (e.g. on
signs) as latin characters, for people who don't want
to memorize the runic alphabet.
There should also be an option to display Latin
characters (e.g. in conversations) as runes, for people
who love the runic alphabet so much that they want to
see it everywhere.
