    Hi Scott,

    For what it is worth, I ended up deciding to stick with Thread-based comms, rather than trying to force everything into an asynchronous handler.

    For my use case (an intercepting/modifying proxy), it really is the simplest choice.

    I also noted advice on various fora that unless I was aiming to support hundreds or thousands of simultaneous connections, Thread-based would be just fine. In fact, NIO can actually slow things down in lower traffic cases!
