• Newsboard 0.7

  Version 0.7 of Newsboard has been released to introduce a new feature requested by a Newsboard user. Password encryption can now be enabled/disabled by altering the encrypt variable in 'add_users.asp' and 'login.asp' from encrypt = 1 (enabled) to encrypt = 0 (disabled).

  NEW IN VERSION 0.7: - Ability to enable or disable password encyption - change the variable 'encrypt' at the top of add_user.asp and login.asp to 0 to disable encyption (set to 1, the default to enable encryption). Please note that users already in your database if you change this variable will no longer work unless you change the passwords manually in the database. NEW IN VERSION 0.6: - Changed field type for news posts to 'Memo' so the length of the post can exceed 255 characters NEW IN VERSION 0.5: - Moved user ID/name text to below Newsboard logo on main Administration page. - Big security improvement - Newsboard now uses session object instead of cookies to store temporary information - Added the ability for all users to edit their own posts and admin users to edit all posts - Added a 'my posts' count and a 'total posts' count - Database structure has NOT been changed in this release from version 0.4 TO DO: - Ability for admins to create (even when locked to new users) and delete users, - Proper documentation, - Support for MySQL databases as well as Access, - Other new features and improvements.

• Newsboard 0.6

  Newsboard 0.6 has just been released. One one change has been made for this release but it's quite a big one. The field type for the posts has been changed from 'text' to 'memo' meaning that the news posts no longer have a maximum length of 255 characters.
