  • NEW v0.3 beta 5

Hi. I know I've suspended the project, but I just had to add this stuff. Something that actually should have been in the very first version and I'm not sure why it hasn't: hide the .txt extension from the user. Seriously, that's just confusing, you have a html file, but address bar says it is txt. This change has some consequences on how the system works, you will have to change some links and stuff... uh, and other modules may be broken (please tell me if so). Then there's a simplification of localization (check the release notes) and some new bbCodes (one of which might be slightly broken: try it). Also a very serious bugfix in news module I forgot to upload a long time ago. And some security stuff. Enjoy (and tell me about bugs. please?) Edit: Oh, and there's no 0.2 bugfix release. Since this project has actually been suspended (or hasn't it?)

  • Project suspended

This project has reached a state where 1. I don't need any new features. 2. No one else seems to be interested in new features. 3. There don't seem to be too many serious bugs. This and the fact that I'm no longer too much interested in PHP (Ruby got me), made me suspend the project. I will still submit bug fixes as I find or others report bugs, as well as new features, if I care. I'll be using the software myself, so I might want some new features in future, add them and then release a new version here. I'm still excited about the idea of the project, and maybe I'll write a Ruby port once. I don't like Rails too much, it is too databasey.

  • NEW v0.2.3 and v0.3 beta 4

Some fixes, among them a severe XSS bug (HTML code, i.e. JS wasn't escaped everywhere the new_process function is used, which is virtually anywhere). The 0.3 beta includes a news module, which is more like a weblog module. You can now with some adjustments in new.ini use NEW not as a CMS but as a weblog (see new screenshot). I've possibly sent package notification twice for the beta, sorry if I did.
