I have basically rewritten Netropolis to use forked processes for indexing and overhauled the user interface. This new version indexes by IP address. I have it scanning and indexing 100+ subnets right now on my laptop, which dumps information about 200,000+ files (~ 1 TB of data) in about 45 minutes. And the searching is fast. :) Look for the release sometime soon (but don't count on support for other DB's besides PostgreSQL).
The next release of Netropolis is coming along very well. It speeds up the indexing and searching by orders of magnitude and adds more features, and will support MySql. It is being tested and debugged right now.
